Browne Jacobson’s corporate finance team were crowned top legal advisers at the Midlands Dealmakers Awards after picking up the coveted ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ award.

The last 12 months has been a record year for the team, working on numerous  complex, multi-layered mid-market transactions including the sale of Addo Food which is considered to be one of the most high-profile deals in the Midlands and the UK food sector over the last year.

In deciding the winner, the judges concluded that "the quality of Browne Jacobson's deals this year has been outstanding across domestic and international M&A and private equity mandates".

Two of the team’s flagship deals were also shortlisted at this year’s awards - the sale of Addo Food from LDC and Fullbrook Thorpe by PAI Partners in the ‘Deal of the Year’ category and the sale of Fanatical to Fandom in the ‘International Deal of the Year’ category. Senior Associate, Sandra Wong,  was also shortlisted in the ‘Emerging Dealmaker of the Year’ – the only lawyer to be shortlisted in the category.

The Dealmaker awards are considered one of the high points in the corporate finance calendar and showcases the achievements of the region’s finest corporate dealmakers.

Richard Cox, partner and head of corporate finance at Browne Jacobson, said:

“We are delighted that the team have been named leading corporate finance firm in the wider Midlands region by our peers.

“Given the quality of this year’s shortlist, this win speaks volumes about our reputation in the marketplace and is a good reflection of our team’s performance in acting on numerous high profile deals in the last year. It also highlights the strength in depth of expertise we have across our Midlands offices and the firm relationships we have with both our Midlands national and international client base.”
