Our mini-pupillage scheme offers a unique insight into life as one of Browne Jacobson’s employed barristers.

Browne Jacobson Barristers is a fully clerked team of 13 employed barristers operating as an in-house chambers within a full service law firm. Launched in 2010, Browne Jacobson Barristers has offered in-house pupillages for 12 years and its team of expert advocates specialise in regulatory, civil and public law.

As a mini-pupil you will spend 5 days with our team. In a typical week you can expect to experience court hearings, client conferences and drafting as well as meeting our current pupil barristers, our clients and our solicitor colleagues. Your mini-pupillage will include assessed oral and written advocacy tasks, and you will receive constructive feedback at the end of the week which is designed to improve your prospects of achieving pupillage.

In line with Browne Jacobson’s commitment to fair and equal access to the legal profession, successful mini-pupils will be provided with financial assistance (£250 per week) to help with travel and/or accommodation costs.

Our 2024 mini-pupillage vacancy will open on 1 May and close on the 31 May 2024.

This scheme is for individuals looking to gain experience of the employed bar. Please note that you must be aged 18 or over to be eligible to apply.

Our 2024 mini-pupillage will be run between July and November.

Applicants are encouraged to read our mini-pupillage policy.
