Led by our former Managing Partner, Iain Blatherwick, and in collaboration with 10Eighty, we offer executive coaching to help you enhance your leadership skills, navigate organisational challenges, and achieve your goals strategically as a C-suite executive.
Coaching is a powerful tool that can assist leaders in reaching their full potential, giving them the space and time to prioritise and reflect. However, all too often, coaching is used reactively and only proposed when there’s a specific issue to overcome, rather than being used proactively to help leaders meet their goals. While we can help you come up with solutions to issues, our priority is to work with you to focus (or refocus) on the things that will help you deliver to the best of your ability. This includes assisting you in finding the balance you wish to achieve both professionally and personally.
Process
For coaching to be successful, a strong relationship of trust must be built between a coach and a client. To kick start your coaching sessions, we offer an initial free of charge chemistry call to ensure that both you and your coach, and if an organisation is involved, the sponsor too, are confident that the relationship will work. In this session, we will agree on an approach and any parameters for future sessions. Working with a team of coaches, facilitators and leadership consultants, we will then build a coaching plan tailored to your goals.
Following the chemistry call, a course of six sessions will be arranged, with each session usually three to four weeks apart. Halfway through the coaching period, we schedule a review to confirm you’re happy that the sessions are achieving their desired objectives. Each session allows some time at the start and end of each session to catch up, to agree the objectives for the session and on the actions to be taken between sessions.
Iain’s story
In 2020, Iain stepped down as Managing Partner at Browne Jacobson after 11 years – a period which saw unprecedented growth and expansion for the business. He wanted to make use of the skills, insights, and experience he gained as a leader and believed that this would be valuable to clients. Iain completed the Academy of Executive Coaching (AOEC) Practitioner Diploma course and is now a qualified coach accredited by AOEC and at Practitioner level by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
Iain knows what it’s like to bear the responsibility, pressure, and occasional loneliness of being a leader. Reflecting on when he needed support the most, it wasn’t always to solve a particular problem, but sometimes he simply needed a safe space away from the pressures and politics of work and free from judgment, to think, discuss ideas, aspire, and determine where his attention should be directed.
