Browne Jacobson advises insurance and logistics tech platform Anansi on latest funding

31 July 2025

UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson has advised Anansi, an innovative UK and Portugal-based insurance technology company, on its strategic funding round led by Guinness Ventures and Portuguese VC firm Alea Capital Partners.

The investment will accelerate Anansi’s ambitious expansion plans across the UK and key international markets.

Founded by Megan Bingham-Walker, Anansi’s platform combines regulated insurance with automation and real-time data, helping retailers, marketplaces and logistics providers avoid the frictions caused by lost parcels, invoicing errors and slow claims processes, thereby reducing administration, improving margins and offering greater control and transparency.

The Browne Jacobson team was led by Partner and Head of the UK and Ireland Venture Capital and High Growth team, Jon Snade, and Senior Associate Shania Sood.

Jon Snade, Partner at Browne Jacobson, said: “We’re pleased to have supported Anansi through this significant transaction, having started working with the company's pre-seed round which closed in 2021. Our InsurTech sector expertise and the ability of our UK and Ireland Venture Capital and High Growth company team’s experience in handling cross-border deals enabled us to help Megan and her team close this investment round. We look forward to continuing to support Anansi at this exciting stage of its growth cycle as it scales its operations in the UK and overseas.”

Megan Bingham-Walker, CEO and Co-Founder of Anansi, said: "Browne Jacobson has been instrumental in our journey from startup to this major funding milestone. Jon and his team’s understanding of both the InsurTech landscape and cross-border transactions proved invaluable throughout this process. They provided not only legal counsel, but acted as true strategic partners: anticipating challenges and ensuring we could focus on what we do best while they navigated the investment round.
