Browne Jacobson has advised private equity firm Aliter Capital on its investment in London based commercial law firm Carter Bond Limited.
This transaction represents the second investment for Aliter's legal services portfolio business, following its investment in Manchester-based BBS Law in October 2024.
The combined entity operates from offices in Manchester and London, serving high-growth small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals across the UK. Carter Bond brings particular expertise in commercial and corporate law.
The deal strengthens the group's service offering and extends its geographic reach as it builds towards becoming a UK-wide legal services provider.
The Browne Jacobson team advising Aliter Capital LLP and BBS Law was led by Corporate Partner Ryan Brown, Daniel Knowles as the lead Associate with support from Associate Alex O'Donoughue. Partner Graham Ball and Senior Associate Beth Nixon led on the banking and finance aspects of the deal and Principal Associate Craig Thomas led on the tax aspects.
Ryan Brown, Corporate Partner at Browne Jacobson, commented: “The benefit of having longstanding relationships with clients like Aliter Capital and the management team of BBS Law is that we get to understand their strategy and, as a result, can deliver transactions like this in a really efficient and collaborative way. There is a lot of M&A in the legal services sector and we are proud to be at the forefront of that with clients like Aliter Capital and BBS Law."
The firm has recently completed private equity deals including advising BGF on £15m investment into scheduling infrastructure provider Cronofy.
