Browne Jacobson advises Apiary Capital and management on the exit of events business ROAR B2B to CloserStill Media

28 October 2026

Browne Jacobson has advised Apiary Capital on another key deal – the exit of events business, ROAR B2B, to a market leader with a global presence. The UK and Ireland law firm advised both Apiary and the management team of ROAR B2B on its sale to CloserStill Media, which organises business events, exhibitions and conferences.

ROAR B2B operates a portfolio of specialist, content-led trade shows and conferences serving professional communities across the environmental, healthcare and business technology sectors.

The acquisition by CloserStill, which operates across multiple markets, underscores the strength and appeal of ROAR's portfolio. The transaction reflects continued investor appetite for high-quality, specialist B2B media and events businesses with strong audience engagement and the capacity to scale.

The Browne Jacobson deal team was led by Private Equity Partner Matthew Dorman and Head of Private Equity Gareth Davies. They were supported by Principal Associate Enes Ilgun, Associate Ben Cowan and Associate Christopher Brown (Corporate), Partner Craig Thomas (Tax) and Principal Associate Jennifer Jenkins (Employment)

Matthew Dorman said: "ROAR is dominant in its core markets and has developed an entrepreneurial culture and a team of talented people. It's been a real team effort, and a great way to mark another milestone in what is a really important relationship for us."

The deal is the fourth Apiary transaction in the past 12 months. In June 2026, the firm advised on their cross-border investment in Spanish Point Technologies, Microsoft's largest Azure partner in Ireland, a leading cloud, AI and enterprise software specialist headquartered in Dublin. In July 2026, the firm also advised them on the significant investment by US-based private equity firm FTV Capital in Carbon Underwriting. In September 2026, the firm acted on their investment in Orega, the UK's leading provider of flexible workspace through management agreements.
