Browne Jacobson acts on major private equity investment into UK flexible workspace market
UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson advised private equity firm Apiary Capital on its investment in Orega, the UK's leading provider of flexible workspace through management agreements.
The transaction, a management buy-out from Orega's founding shareholders, reflects the continued evolution of the UK commercial real estate market, as occupiers increasingly move away from traditional long-term leases in favour of flexible, managed workspace solutions.
Apiary Capital's investment will support Orega's continued growth, including expansion into new locations and services, both organically and through selective acquisitions, further consolidating the business's position as a leading platform in the flexible workspace sector.
The Browne Jacobson team was led by Private Equity Partner Matthew Dorman and Head of Private Equity Gareth Davies. They were supported by the firm’s full-service team: Principal Associate Greg Turton, Associates Ben Cowan and Salwa Ali (Corporate), Partner Paul Duggan, Associate Lucy Charlesworth and Paralegal Daniel Fowler (Banking), Principal Associate Jennifer Jenkins (Employment) and Senior Corporate Tax Advisor Jade Williamson (Tax)
Matthew Dorman commented: “The way businesses think about office space has changed fundamentally, and Orega has been ahead of that curve. We’re pleased to deliver again for Apiary, a client with a strong record of backing and growing quality businesses. It's been a real team effort, and a great way to mark another milestone in what is a really important relationship for us.”
Browne Jacobson has advised Apiary Capital on more than 12 buyout deals since 2018, and the Orega deal is the third transaction in 2026 alone. In June, the firm advised Apiary Capital on its cross-border investment in Spanish Point Technologies. Earlier in July, the firm advised Apiary Capital on the significant investment by US-based private equity firm FTV Capital in Carbon Underwriting.
