Browne Jacobson advises Orwins on fourth transaction
UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson has advised Orwins, the Aliter Capital-backed legal services group, on its investment into Clarke Mairs, the Newcastle upon Tyne-based commercial law firm.
The transaction is the third post-buyout transaction on which Browne Jacobson has advised Orwins, having previously acted on the group's investments into Carter Bond and Clarkslegal.
Clarke Mairs is a full-service commercial law firm specialising in litigation, insolvency, commercial property, and company and commercial law, with a 48-strong team led by ten partners. The firm serves clients across the North East and beyond, and its partners will remain with the business, becoming shareholders in Orwins.
The investment expands Orwins' national footprint as the group builds towards its ambition of becoming a market leader in the provision of legal services across the UK.
The core deal team was led by Corporate Partner Ryan Brown, with support from Senior Associate Daniel Knowles, Senior Associate Owen Brayden, Associate Mattias McDonald and Trainee Solicitor Eleanor Broome. The team was further supported by Senior Corporate Tax Advisor Jade Williamson, Associate Will Hartley (Employment), and Senior Associate Beth Nixon and Associate Emma Cascales-Labbate (Banking).
