UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson has reinforced its position as a leading corporate, M&A and private equity adviser after winning three awards at this year's East Midlands Rainmakers Awards.
The firm triumphed in three highly competitive categories: National Legal Team of the Year, Deal of the Year (£10m-£50m) and Deal of the Year (up to £10m). The accolades recognised the firm's role in advising the shareholders of Nottingham-based speciality coffee roaster 200 Degrees on its acquisition by Caffè Nero Group, and its work advising Integrated Doorset Solutions Limited Group, backed by private equity investor LDC, on its acquisition of Hartland Fire.
The East Midlands Rainmaker Awards celebrate the best deals and teams in the past year, as voted for by the corporate finance community in a one firm, one vote system.
This latest recognition follows a year of exceptional growth and achievement for Browne Jacobson. The firm recently secured its strongest ever performance in both the Chambers UK 2026 Guide and the Legal 500 2025 Guide, while continuing to expand its corporate team across the UK and Ireland and to meet the increasing demand for the firm’s services in cross border M&A work and high value deals.
The firm's corporate practice has demonstrated particular strength in handling increasingly complex strategic transactions and cross-border deals. Recent highlights include advising Modella on its acquisition of global accessories retailer Claire's and WH Smith’s high street stores. This is alongside a series of other significant international interactions, underscoring the team's growing capabilities in the global marketplace. Recent international deals include Nordic private equity fund Monterro on its acquisition of Cubic Interactive Limited and Nottingham-based Orrsum on the sale of the business to global supply chain leader Li & Fung.
Richard Cox, Partner at Browne Jacobson and head of the firm's national corporate team, said: "Our achievements are testament to another fantastic year delivered by our dedicated corporate and private equity teams. We are very pleased to pick up two awards for deals which align strongly with our strategic sector focus and be recognised as National Legal Team of the Year. We're very proud of the key role we play in the East Midlands dealmaking community, nationally and internationally, and continue to welcome exceptional talent in all locations to support our growth."
Browne Jacobson’s Inward Investment report, published earlier this year, highlighted that 60% of respondents anticipated higher deal volumes this year. 73% predicted increased PE activity, consolidation is expected in technology, healthcare, and sustainable energy. Read the full report here.
