Browne Jacobson IP team ranked among the world’s leading trademark advisers
Browne Jacobson’s Intellectual Property team has secured top-tier recognition in the World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000, reaffirming its position as a go-to adviser for brand-defining trade mark work.
The firm achieved silver for enforcement and litigation, was recommended for transactions and received bronze for prosecution and strategy, highlighting strength across the full trade mark lifecycle.
The team was praised for being “commercial, pragmatic and tenacious,” with a reputation for delivering clear, decisive advice and smart solutions to complex trade mark challenges.
Browne Jacobson is trusted by market-leading brands across retail and consumer markets, as well as technology and leisure, advising on brand strategy, global portfolio management, high-value transactions and hard-fought disputes.
The WTR rankings spotlight the team's deep expertise in the beauty retail sector, including its strategic work for fast-growing beauty brand ICONIC London. Partners Declan Cushley and Giles Parsons, and Principal Associate Faye McConnell were recognised for shaping and defending its international brand strategy in the highly competitive retail and consumer goods landscape. Cushley was described as "one of the best within the IP field", with clients citing his hands-on approach and commercially-driven advice.
Mark Daniels was recognised for bringing sharp commercial insight to IP enforcement, recently leading multiple trade mark, passing off and copyright actions for retail and consumer brand Body Glide across the UK and Europe. Nick Smee was also highlighted for combining High Court litigation firepower with a strong track record in high-value IP transactions for global brands.
Declan Cushley, Head of Intellectual Property at Browne Jacobson, said: "These rankings reflect the depth and ambition of our IP team. We have particular strength in the retail and consumer sectors, where brand protection is critical. Our work with home-grown brands such as ICONIC London, particularly in fast-moving retail and consumer sectors, helps to protect, enforce and commercialise its IP with confidence as it scales into international markets."
Browne Jacobson’s IP practice advises on trade marks, copyright, designs, patents and confidential information. Last year, the firm was recognised in London Intellectual Property by the Legal 500 2025 Guide and won National Firm of the Year at the Chambers UK Awards 2025. The team has been recognised in Managing Intellectual Property and IAM Patent 1000 for multiple years, most recently in 2025.
