Browne Jacobson partner named as global role model for disability in the workplace

03 December 2025

Browne Jacobson partner Mark Blois has been recognised as one of 50 business leaders in the world who are role models in the workplace for disability, neurodiversity and mental health.

Mark, who has worked in the UK and Ireland law firm’s education team for more than 25 years, is named in the 2025 Enable Role Model List.

Created by INvolve, a global network of leaders and experts to drive intersectional inclusion, the list celebrates individuals who are challenging barriers and biases that prevent others from thriving at work as their authentic selves.

Mark, who has cystic fibrosis and has previously twice been named in the Shaw Trust’s Disability Power 100 list, was commended for his commitment to advancing disability inclusion in the legal profession and making this a driving force in his career.

He said: “It is an honour to be named as part of such an esteemed list of people who, in their professional roles, are making a meaningful difference to people living with the challenges of disability, neurodiversity and mental health worldwide.

“My personal journey living with cystic fibrosis, like the journeys of many others on this list, has not always been easy but I have now enjoyed three rewarding decades in the legal profession.

“I am very proud to work for a firm in Browne Jacobson that is genuinely committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), which has supported me to succeed, and then provided me with the opportunity to help other current and aspiring lawyers who face their own challenges.”

Mark founded Browne Jacobson’s award-winning education practice in the early 2000s and led it until stepping back last year as part of a succession plan.

He has for many years been ranked in Band One nationally by legal directory Chambers and Partners and included in the Legal 500’s Hall of Fame, which highlights law firm partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession.

The Enable Role Model List praises Mark for using his platform to inspire disabled lawyers to thrive professionally and personally via mentoring, public speaking and media features.

His other initiatives include participating in expert-led panels and serving on professional boards and committees that champion disability and inclusion.

Judges said: “His efforts have created a culture of empathy and support, normalising conversations around disability and empowering individuals to share their stories and access adjustments.

“Mark is a role model for resilience and inclusion. He challenges stigmas and misconceptions, fostering environments where disabled individuals can succeed.

“Mark’s leadership and advocacy have made a lasting impact, inspiring colleagues and organisations to prioritise accessibility and inclusion.”

Caroline Green, Senior Partner and DEI sponsor at Browne Jacobson, said: “I am delighted, but not at all surprised, that Mark has been recognised by INvolve as the exceptional leader that he is.

“As a firm that strives to be at the forefront of society’s biggest issues, Mark’s promotion of inclusion in the workplace, the legal profession and with the firm’s education clients through his personal experience and commitment has been nothing short of exceptional.

“Mark is a wonderful ambassador of all the values that are important to Browne Jacobson and we are hugely proud of all that he has achieved.

“As we celebrate Disability History Month, what better time to recognise the individuals who are paving the way for others facing challenges across disability, neurodiversity and mental health.”

Suki Sandhu OBE, Founder and CEO of INvolve, added: “I am so excited to unveil INvolve’s Enable Role Model List sponsored by Dow. This list showcases exceptional, global role models in business, who are going above and beyond to drive inclusion within the disability, neurodivergence and mental health spaces.

“It’s so vital to have trailblazing role models who we can all look towards for inspiration and guidance, and this year’s role models are working hard to dismantle barriers that impede progression and equality within business and beyond.

“Our Enable Role Models provide valuable insights and tools gained from their vast personal and professional experiences that business leaders across the world can use when implementing their own ambitious goals for change.”
