UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson has advised Phenna Group on its acquisition of forklift inspections and compliance services specialist, Statutory Inspections Limited.
Nottingham-headquartered Phenna Group is a leading global provider of testing, inspection, certification and compliance (TICC) services. It invests in and partners with selected niche, independent TICC companies that serve a variety of sectors, ensuring customers' peace of mind by delivering first-class testing and assurance services.
The acquisition of Statutory Inspections Limited is Phenna Group’s eighth in 2025, and further strengthens its position in the UK’s built environment sector. Statutory Inspections Limited will join Phenna Group’s market-leading Built Environment division as part of BTIS.
With a strong reputation for professional excellence, Statutory Inspections Limited is one of the UK’s largest independent thorough examination companies, providing high-quality forklift inspections to an array of customers and sectors. Known for its technical knowledge, responsive services and long-standing customer relationships, the business brings a wealth of expertise to Phenna Group's built environment portfolio.
The Browne Jacobson team advising Phenna Group on the deal was led by Matt Bolton, Partner in the corporate team. It included Nick Smee (Partner in intellectual property), Christian Burchardt (Senior Associate in corporate tax) and Abigail Noakes (Associate in corporate).
The firm has recently advised Phenna Group on its acquisitions of STM Environmental, which provides environmental consulting services to public and private sector clients, and Calibre Environmental, which specialises in delivering solutions for water hygiene and water treatment.
