Data centre policy: Roundtable discussion
Browne Jacobson (Ireland), in partnership with the British Irish Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a roundtable discussion on Thursday 22 January 2026 to examine the CRU's proposals for a new connection policy for Large Energy Users (LEUs), with particular emphasis on Ireland's expanding data centre sector.
The proposed policy seeks to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for connecting new data centres to the electricity grid whilst addressing critical concerns surrounding security of supply and the impact on Ireland's renewable energy objectives.
This roundtable will bring together key stakeholders to discuss the implications of the proposed LEU regulatory framework for the future of the Irish data centre sector and to gather valuable industry insights.
