Managing general agents

Browne Jacobson is a full service national law firm which offers expert legal advice to the insurance sector. We are trusted advisors to MGAs, London market insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, niche and speciality insurers and brokers.

We act for a range of MGAs, from small specialists to national agents that enjoy international exposure. We work with numerous capacity providers who regard us as a ‘go-to’ firm for their insurance advice. We are also a full service commercial law firm that acts on all areas affecting an insurance business, including property, employment, intellectual property and banking matters.

We provide pragmatic, commercial advice that helps our clients achieve their objectives. We work with MGAs on the development of new products, and in relation to the introduction of systems, controls and governance models to reduce conduct risk and increase policyholder satisfaction and loyalty. We develop strong and effective relationships with our clients by securing a deep understanding of their needs and expectations. This allows us to adopt an approach which is bespoke to our clients’ specific business models and culture.

We combine our extensive knowledge of the insurance sector with our broader commercial expertise, to advise MGAs, insurers, brokers and other market participants in relation to all aspects of their business.
