Browne Jacobson ranked as one of UK’s ten most active dealmakers

5 August 2019

Law firm Browne Jacobson has been named as one of the most active M&A advisers in the UK for the first half of 2019, according to an independent report.

The firm is ranked as the 9th most active UK dealmaker in the latest M&A Review from Experian MarketIQ after the firm completed 44 qualifying deals, a rise of 10 places on its quarter one placing.

The firm also moved from 22nd place to joint 2nd in the South East, whilst retaining its 3rd place position in the Midlands and being the 4th most active deal adviser in Scotland.

Recent high profile deals the firm has acted on during the first half of the year have included the acquisition of iconic high street brand HMV by Sunrise Records, acting for Palatine Private Equity on the secondary buy out of CET UK, advising Apiary Capital on the merger between Connect Managed Services and G3 Comms and Dalet on the acquisition of the Flex Media Platform business from Ooyala.

Richard Cox, head of corporate at Browne Jacobson, said:

“It has been a busy six months and we are delighted to have improved our ranking from the first quarter of 2019. It demonstrates that despite the uncertainty over Brexit and overall deal volumes being slightly lower across the UK during the first half of the year, we have maintained a strong pipeline.
“The investment we have made in the team over the last few years, our growing reputation for offering high quality corporate advice and delivering exceptional client service has been critical to our rankings success, both nationally and regionally.”

Browne Jacobson’s team of over 30 corporate and banking & finance lawyers deliver corporate and banking transactions across the whole range of services for domestic and international clients including, amongst others, FTSE 100 companies, private equity investors and the UKs leading banking institutions. The team has particular expertise in major strategic transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity and development capital investments, joint ventures and restructurings, property finance, refinancings, asset-based lending and regulated corporate work such as public company fundraising, funds formation and cross border restructuring.
