Mark Owen

Mark is an associate in the health litigation team working predominantly on complex spinal injury cases and claims involving adult neurological injuries. He has over 10 years’ experience working on clinician negligence claims from inception through to trial and has worked for claimants and defendants. 

Mark trained as a clinical negligence solicitor at a claimant firm on the Wirral where he is from. Having qualified in 2017, he moved to defendant work in 2018, working for one of the panel firms for NHS Resolution. He has worked at Browne Jacobson since February 2022. 

Mark has worked on a variety of cases and has successfully defended three cases at trial in the last two years. On one occasion, he was successful in an application to obtain a third-party costs order against an expert witness for a sum in excess of £50,000. 

Away from law, you’ll find Mark playing football, watching Liverpool Football Club at Anfield, and (trying) to play golf. Mark enjoys quizzing and has hosted the Liverpool Law Society / Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division annual quiz for the last five years.
