  • The Mental Health Act & The MHA White Paper - We will provide a general update including some important recent case law relating to s.17(3) in the context of deprivation of liberty, and s.117 aftercare
  • The Court of Protection, Mental Capacity Act and LPS - We will look at the recent cases flowing from the court, including the response to Covid, the pressures on the system and the recent decisions regarding capacity to engage in sexual relations. We will also touch upon the latest developments in LPS and the next steps to implementation
  • Human Rights - The Government has opened the consultation on the Human Rights Act review (closing 03 March 2022). We will examine the likely direction of travel and the headlines to be aware of to better inform any organisational response to this important call for evidence.
