This session will focus on the practical implications of an increasing trend towards corporate and gross negligence manslaughter investigations including:
- Relationship with independent and public inquiries.
- Interactions with internal processes including disciplinary and other internal investigations.
- Implications for inquest preparation.
- The status of reflective notes.
We will also cover the legal framework and look to previous prosecutions and ongoing investigations for lessons about what differentiates those circumstances from other patient deaths.
