Mental health and capacity forum: Navigating the transition from children to adults

Join us on 8 July for a critical discussion on the challenges and considerations for practitioners as children under health or social care transition into adulthood.

This session will focus on key areas including deprivation of liberty, childcare orders, and the mental health system, providing clarity and guidance through these complex changes. 

The webinar will be hosted by Rebecca Blackwood, Barrister and Laura Thomas, Associate. They will lead a discussion on the legal transformations accompanying the transition from childhood to adulthood. They’ll guide you through the complexities of deprivation of liberty before and after the age of 16, the evolution of childcare orders and the critical aspects of transitioning safely from child to adult mental health services. There’ll be time for questions and discussion and interaction is welcome throughout.
