Join us on 4 November for our mental health and capacity forum, when we’ll be examining recent court decisions involving patients with anorexia nervosa. We’ll explore the interplay between mental health and mental capacity legislation and provide guidance for clinicians and in-house legal teams dealing with these difficult cases.
The forum will be hosted by our healthcare advisory lawyers Clare Shepherd, Katie Viggers and Isma Qadir.
We’ll look at several recent High Court and Court of Protection decisions involving patients with anorexia nervosa and discuss the different conclusions reached by the courts.
We’ll also consider how treatment can be authorised for anorexia patients under both the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts, and provide guidance on when clinicians and in-house legal teams might need to make court applications, helping to clarify the legal frameworks in these challenging situations.
We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you.
Our in-person and online events are designed exclusively for clients and targets. As such, we reserve the right to cancel bookings. If you’d like to speak to a member of the team regarding your attendance, please contact us.
