16 February 2024

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has recently been ranked the highest in the country out of 121 Trusts for the care provided given during pregnancy, labour and birth.

The 2023 Maternity Survey, which was conducted by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), assessed the experiences of over 25,000 families in February 2023. The survey covered a range of topics, including the quality of care provided during labour and birth, the support given during pregnancy and after birth, and the overall experience of care.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital was ranked amongst the top nationally for the quality of care provided during antenatal check-ups, pregnancy, labour, birth and care in the ward and at home after birth. They were also ranked highest in the region for their antenatal check-ups and care provided during pregnancy and in the ward and at home after birth.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the hospital's staff and the commitment to continuous improvement and to provide the highest quality of care for its patients.
