Browne Jacobson announces new firmwide Head of Employment

20 March 2024

UK and Ireland law firm, Browne Jacobson, has promoted partner Emma Capper as the firm’s new firmwide Head of Employment.

Emma joined the employment team in Browne Jacobson’s Birmingham office in 2023 and has over 20 years of experience spanning both contentious and non-contentious employment advice, across a range of sectors.

In her new broader role, Emma will oversee the 60-strong Employment team spanning Browne Jacobson’s seven offices.

Emma Capper said: “I am thrilled to take up the role as practice head across the firm and I look forward to spearheading the growth of the employment practice even further.”

Emma has extensive experience advising UK and international businesses on all aspects of employment law, including large scale restructuring, employment disputes, board level exits, cross-border projects and investigations.

Alongside her multi-jurisdictional expertise, she has particular experience advising on the employment aspects of domestic and international corporate transactions.

Jonathan Tardif, Head of Business and Professional Risk at Browne Jacobson, said: “For many years our employment practice has seen significant growth across our core sectors. As we enter the team’s next phase of development, we are attracting exciting senior talent to the team, with more planned.

“We are delighted to see Emma take on the role as firmwide Head of Employment and I know she will make a huge impact as we continue our growth journey.”
