Browne Jacobson’s Manchester team has advised nmcn, the national provider of design, offsite manufacturing and construction services in the water sector, on its acquisition of water treatment system manufacturer Lintott Environmental Technologies and its wholly owned subsidiary, Lintott Control Systems (LCS).

LCS specialises in the design, manufacture and after-care of factory-built, packaged water and wastewater treatment systems, as well as process software, systems integration and electrical control panels.

The acquisition, which is at a total consideration of up to £3.7m subject to a three-year earn out, will accelerate nmcn’s strategy of offering asset lifecycle management services within the water sector.

John Homer, CEO at nmcn, said:

“The strong cash position we’ve been able to build in recent years has enabled us to take the next step in broadening our offering to the water sector.

“This acquisition offers an excellent opportunity for nmcn to strengthen and expand our already established offering to the UK water industry and potentially other markets in the future in providing off-site build, chemical dosing systems, motor control centres, and control systems.”

David Owen, managing director at LCS, said:

“We were attracted by the market opportunity and business development opportunities presented by joining nmcn. We look forward to supporting the wider business in achieving its growth objectives and in delivering exceptional customer service.”

A Manchester-based multi-disciplinary team from Browne Jacobson, led by Peter Allen and including Ryan Brown (corporate), Camille Stephenson (commercial property), Helen Simm (regulatory), Kurt Davies (commercial), and Rebecca Hawkins (tax), advised on the transaction.

Peter Allen, partner at Browne Jacobson, said:

“We are pleased to have advised nmcn on its acquisition of LCS, which adds a substantial, expert team to the wider group and expands the firm’s services. It has been a pleasure working with the team at nmcn and we are confident that the enlarged group will continue to strengthen its market position as a result.”
