Tom is a senior associate in the banking and finance team. He handles a wide range of banking and finance matters, including leveraged finance, refinancings, general corporate lending, education finance and infrastructure finance. He acts for leading banks, alternative debt providers, corporate borrowers, sponsors and public sector bodies, across bilateral, club and syndicated structures.
Tom joined Browne Jacobson in May 2025, after having spent a number of years at a large international law firm. He previously spent time on secondment in the London office of a global bank, which gave him invaluable experience of life as a client.
His work involves advising on all aspects of facility, security and intercreditor documentation, often on event-driven and cross-border transactions. Tom also has an interest in and particular focus on the education sector and advising banks and both higher education and further education institutions in this area.
He is a member of the firm’s Higher Education Leadership Group, in which he contributes from a banking and finance perspective to the group’s knowledge and discussions in relation to the latest and most important themes and factors influencing the market around higher education financing transactions.

Acted for a corporate borrower based in the USA in connection with the refinancing of its existing facility.
Leveraged finance and sponsor led debt
Acted for a digital marketing company and its sponsor in relation to the entry into its facilities with a leading alternative finance provider.
Refinancings
Acted for a large provider of residential care, and a private equity firm that had backed the company, in relation to the refinancing of their existing facilities.
General corporate lending
Acted for a leading global bank in relation to a revolving credit facility which had been made available to a PLC to refinance some of the company’s existing shareholder loan notes.
