Browne Jacobson has unveiled its new look office at 103 Colmore Row, the city's latest flagship commercial development, as it targets further expansion in the West Midlands.
The firm posted record revenues of £94m for the 2021-22 financial year with the Birmingham office delivering double digit growth with revenues rising to over £23m. This increase marked a 30% growth in turnover since 2019.
Working with office design and fit out specialists, Office Innovations, the new multi-functional space on the 15th Floor of the landmark building offers an enhanced working environment for its people and clients.
The firm has reduced the number of traditional desks by 40% in favour of more flexible, collaborative workspaces which can also be used for client meeting rooms or private working spaces.
The firm has introduced the latest in video conferencing technology to support its hybrid working policy. In line with its commitment to more positive working environments the Browne Jacobson – Office Innovations design team has also introduced living walls alongside a series of images, chosen by staff, that capture the essence of the city.
The team also consulted with the firm’s Disability Networks Group for advice on how to make the new space more accessible and as inclusive as possible. As a result, the firm has installed height-adjustable work surfaces in the bistro-style kitchen area as well as gender-neutral bathrooms in addition to male and female facilities.
Richard Medd, Managing Partner at Browne Jacobson, said:
“Birmingham and the West Midlands are key to our long term strategy and the investment in this new office underpins our strong confidence in the region. Helping organisations across the region to succeed can only help us achieve our growth objectives.
“Our new space perfectly encapsulates our ethos, culture and brand values as a modern, forward thinking law firm whilst at the same time offering clients an attractive flexible working environment which suits the way they like to work and collaborate with their advisers and partners.
“It’s a perfect office for a post-Covid world with its impressive environmental credentials and market leading facilities, not to mention some of the best views of the city you will ever see.”
Declan Vaughan, People Director, added:
“We want to encourage collaborative ways of working and the new office, similar to our other offices, has been designed to encourage the free flow of people, contact and connection.
“It perfectly reflects the way we approach our work and enables the creation of a personal connection between our people at all levels.
“It’s also a place where those who are new to the business can connect and build relationships, a showcase to clients about our ambitions, and a space that’s fun to be in.”
As Birmingham’s tallest office building, 103 Colmore Row is the first commercial office building in Birmingham’s Central Business District to link up with Birmingham’s low-carbon District Energy Scheme and the first office in the city to have achieved an EPC A rating. Offering 223,631 sq ft of BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Grade A office space, the building includes Orelle, a modern French restaurant located on the 24th floor and ground floor café both operated by D&D London, a members’ business club on the 18th floor and a roof top winter garden with panoramic views of the city.
