Like most aspects of daily life, governing body and board decision-making has been impacted by the current coronavirus outbreak - whether it is the type of decisions needed, and/or a climate where more reactive urgent decisions may be required.

Likewise academy trusts who plan to hold Annual General Meetings or General Meetings may want to put plans in place well in advance to manage them effectively.

In this webinar education legal experts Nick MacKenzie and Dominic Swift will:

Look at the different options for maintained school Governing Bodies and Academy Trust Boards to make decisions when physical meeting are not possible
Share some hints and tips for managing ‘virtual meetings’ effectively including ideas for meeting discipline/etiquette
Consider potential agenda items that Governing Bodies and Boards may want to consider and what ‘routine’ business may be postponed
Offer some reflections about what sort of changes you may want to take from the current approaches and adopt permanently when physical meetings can resume
For academy trusts, set out your options for effectively running Annual General Meetings (where required by the Articles) and General Meetings when social distancing rules are in place.
