Owen specialises in employment law, advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters. He represents public and private sector bodies in all types of claims in the Employment Tribunal, including unfair dismissal, redundancy, sex, race and disability discrimination. Owen also advises on corporate acquisitions from an employment perspective and issues relating to TUPE transfers in both the private and public sector.
Owen has a wide variety of experience with a particular focus on the healthcare sector, having previously worked within our clinical negligence team, and advises NHS Trusts on employment matters including, raising concerns, management of cases under MHPS, and assists clients through discussions with the Regulator when settlement of Employment Tribunal claims is required.
Owen also advises private and public sector clients on TUPE transfer related issues, including consultation requirements, changing terms and conditions and interpretation/drafting of TUPE warranties and indemnities. He also supports the corporate team on the employment law issues surrounding acquisitions and investments, including the sales of a music for pets company and door manufacturer.
