A Guide to the Schools Bill 2022
24 May 2022
The Schools Bill is one of the most significant pieces of legislation the education sector has seen in recent years. Whilst in some respects it is a natural and necessary regulatory evolution of where the sector finds itself today, the resulting legal reform will be impactful. In broad terms, the Bill covers the regulation of academies, funding, attendance, the regulation of independent institutions and teacher misconduct. Below, we have published a series of briefings which we hope will help you understand what the Bill will mean for your school or trust.
Please note that this commentary is on the form of the Bill as introduced in May 2022. Amendments are anticipated as the Bill progresses through Parliament.
- Academy Trust Standards
- Academy Intervention Powers
- Schools with a religious character
