NHS mental health trusts

The challenge faced by many NHS Mental Health Trusts is the tension between a desire to provide excellent treatment in a community setting and the lack of resources to deliver, against a background of an estate built with good intentions by Edwardian and Victorian benefactors.

The result is that many mental health organisations have absorbed community health services and have integrated health and mental health services so that they have become integrated health and well-being trusts, providing services for adults and children with an end-to-end service.
