Wayne specialises in defending clinical negligence claims, acting on behalf of public sector organisations such as NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts, as well as private healthcare providers. His case portfolio consists of complex general defence work involving ophthalmic injury, urological injury, bowel injury, gynaecological injury, orthopaedic injury, cancer diagnosis / treatment and amputations.
Prior to specialising in defending clinical negligence claims, Wayne worked as a claimant lawyer acting on behalf of injured individuals, some of which had sustained catastrophic or fatal injuries. Wayne has therefore experienced life from both the claimant and defendant side when it comes to litigation. As a result, Wayne is used to taking a commercial approach when managing claims and his focus is on early and fair claim resolution through settlement or discontinuance, whether this is by way of ADR in the form of mediation, round table meetings, or by making early sensible offers. Similarly, as an experienced litigator, Wayne is used to robustly and successfully defending claims at trial.
