Carmen is a Senior Associate in the commercial team in London. She advises on a range of commercial and outsourcing contracts across multiple sectors, with particular expertise in technology, media, advertising, and retail and supply chain.
Carmen advises a wide array of clients on commercial arrangements, regulatory compliance, and emerging legislative frameworks, and helps them navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, affecting digital platforms, advertising practices, and consumer-facing businesses. Carmen has a keen interest in the Fashion and Beauty industry, and supports the firm in driving forward its relationships with industry experts and providing valuable market insights.
Prior to joining Browne Jacobson, Carmen worked at EY and Aviva plc, and has extensive experience in advising FTSE 100 financial services clients. Having acted both in-house and in private practice as legal counsel, Carmen has developed a mature understanding of her clients' needs and practices. She places particular importance on building and maintaining strong and successful client relationships that span across an organisation. Clients value Carmen's strength in communicating and collaborating with them on projects spanning a number of jurisdictions, and she has been commended on her attitude and work ethic.
Carmen has a passion for driving forward social mobility within the legal industry, as well as recognising the importance and impact of diversity, equity and inclusiveness in any professional environment. She is a member of the firm’s REACH Steering Group, and has sat as Chair and Board Member on a number of DE&I boards and committees in her previous roles. Carmen has worked closely with charities supporting refugees across the UK, and continues to mentor aspiring young lawyers.
