Robert is a senior associate and member of the corporate team. After gaining several years corporate and commercial experience working with SMEs and managed owned businesses at Actons Solicitors LLP, Robert worked as in-house solicitor for ThinCats (an award-winning alternative finance provider) during the pandemic where he helped deliver hundreds of government-guaranteed loans (£1m to £15m in value) to support SME businesses nationally during the unprecedented period. Robert was previously awarded Junior Lawyer of the Year from Nottinghamshire Law Society in 2016 and was also chair and committee member of the Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division (a social membership organisation for junior lawyers across Nottinghamshire). 

Robert focuses on corporate mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity investments in the SME market. He is passionate about delivering tailored commercial advice to clients.  

Robert has gained experience across corporate and banking sectors with a particular focus on advising SMEs. His varied experience in private practice and in-house also gives him a keen awareness and understanding of commercial issues and pressures faced by clients. As a result, Robert employs this knowledge to help clients achieve their business plans and objectives by providing considered and pragmatic advice and guidance.
