Browne Jacobson's IP stars shine again with latest UK 2019 rankings

26 June 2019

Browne Jacobson’s intellectual property practice has again been ranked in one of the world's leading guides to intellectual property (IP) firms and practitioners.

The national firm has been ranked in Managing Intellectual Property’s latest IP Stars rankings for its contentious trade mark and contentious patent expertise.

The research for IP Stars covers over 75 jurisdictions and is carried out over a six-month period by a team of researchers who obtain information from law firms, IP agencies and in-house counsel through surveys and interviews.

The IP Stars rankings are available online and can be accessed here.

In addition to the firm ranking, Declan Cushley, head of the firm’s Commercial & IP team and IP partners Cerryg Jones and Mark Daniels were all individually ranked as trade mark stars. Mark was also ranked individually as a patent star. IP partner Giles Parsons and IP senior associate Nick Smee are currently ranked as rising stars.

Declan Cushley, commented:

"I am delighted that we have again been recognised for the strength and breadth of our trade mark and patent work and experience.

“The IP market is a challenging and ever changing place but we have been able to respond to those challenges effectively and continue to offer our client base high quality strategic advice on a broad range of matters which has resulted in our clients being able to achieve their own business objectives.”

The team have had an impressive year acting on a number of high profile matters including successfully defending Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club in High Court copyright infringement proceedings and the purchase from administration of HMV by Sunrise Records.
