The introduction of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 changes the landscape for how schools and trusts should manage their data protection responsibilities.
This targeted training course, led by Dai Durbridge, Claire Archibald and Beth Paliga and delivered in two interactive Zoom sessions, is specifically designed to equip Data Protection Officers (DPOs) in schools and trusts with the knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate these new requirements.
Who should attend?
Data Protection Officers in schools and Trusts and other governance professionals responsible for data protection compliance.
Why attend?
The Act changes how you should manage subject access requests, introduces a requirement to implement a complaints process specifically for data protection issues, impacts on how police should request data from you, introduces the new concept of ‘recognised legitimate interest’, and more.
By attending this interactive course, you will learn about the changes and their impact and understand how best to implement them in your setting, including changes to policies, procedures, practice and your data protection compliance culture.
