Victoria Thourgood

Victoria is Browne Jacobson’s Head of Corporate Real Estate. Within her role she also heads up our national Health, Social Care and Life sciences real estate team providing specialist advice to our clients in these sectors and leads on our full service Later Living offer across the firm. She is recognised in the Legal 500 as a Leading Lawyer in Health.

Victoria has almost 30 years’ experience in real estate advising on a wide variety of real estate transactions including site assembly involving options and conditional contracts, development, investment, refinancing, individual and portfolio acquisitions and disposals, disposal strategies, conversion from office to residential under permitted development rights, asset management and corporate support. She has acted for public and private sectors bodies and so understand the drivers and concerns from both sides.

She has experience in many sectors, including mixed use, residential, leisure, business and industrial parks, waterside and marina, student accommodation, academies, redevelopment of former colliery and opencast coal mining sites, and regeneration. She now works predominantly across the following sectors:

• Supported Living & Learning and Disability
• Private healthcare
• Primary and Acute Care
• Dentists
• Pharmacies
• Regeneration and the role for health, social care and specialist housing

She holds a CMI Certificate in Programme and Project Management and uses these skills to ensure transactions and projects are delivered efficiently. She is also a member of our cross-sector ESG group and accredited Plain Numbers Practitioner to help clients improve communications which include numerical information so that they are easier to understand by the vulnerable users to whom so many of our clients provide services.
