Law firm Browne Jacobson has advised on the Silverfleet Capital backed tertiary buyout of Care Fertility (CARE) after mid-market private equity firm Bowmark Capital LLP exited its investment.

Care Fertility

The Browne Jacobson team, which was led by Oliver Pritchard, along with Paul McCannah and Sandra Wong, advised both the individual sellers and management on their investment into the group.

Operating since 1997, Care Fertility Group is the largest independent provider of fertility services in the UK. The business has grown impressively since Bowmark Capital backed the management buyout in 2012 and currently has seven full-service IVF clinics, supported by a network of nineteen other satellite centres across the UK.

Simon Fishel, founder of CARE, commented: “With Bowmark’s help, CARE has grown in scale but never lost sight of the importance of delivering the best outcomes for our patients.

“Much has been achieved since the birth of the first IVF baby in 1978, but so much potential remains to further our understanding of infertility and we look forward to embarking on the next phase.”

CARE’s chief executive, David Burford, added: “With Bowmark’s support, we have made excellent progress over recent years expanding our clinic footprint, investing in our operations and continuing to improve our success rates.”

Oliver Pritchard, head of the independent health team at Browne Jacobson, added: “Having advised the management team at CARE on a number of strategic acquisitions over the years we were particularly delighted to have worked with the management team on, and pleased to have helped deliver, this latest deal.

“The arrival of Silverfleet Capital with its excellent track record of building value in healthcare businesses means CARE is well positioned to build on their success over the last few years.”

Other advisers included KPMG (Bowmark Capital) and Deloitte (CARE management team).
