Simone is a Partner with over 25 years’ experience in real estate litigation. She is trusted by FTSE 500 Real Estate clients as their 'go to' litigator to solve difficult and often business critical problems. Known for providing clear, commercial advice, clients feedback that she is “unflappable” and “does not sit on the fence”.

Simone works on complex cases for the largest real estate companies within the UK. These include a variety of real estate disputes including injunctions, insolvency, forfeiture, dilapidations claims, contested lease renewals, service charge disputes and major contractual disputes. Simone is an extremely vigorous and effective litigator. Clients often comment on her “people skills” which set her apart. Her winning manner and inherently positive outlook mean she quickly gains clients’ confidence and people naturally want to work with her. Some of Simone’s main fields of expertise fall within the logistics, retail and energy sectors.

Simone’s clients have included large investment banks, one of the world’s largest pension funds, listed real estate development companies, one of the UK’s leading oil and gas companies, one of Europe’s largest “last mile” logistics firms, Europe’s largest industrial property developer and the owner of one of the largest portfolio of data centres in the world.

Specific fields of expertise include large development disputes, insolvency and contentious break options. She has delivered complex vacant possession strategies on current, major, high profile redevelopments for significant real estate clients. Her work ranges from asset management work across huge real estate portfolios, to significant litigation cases.

Simone is highly valued by her clients and sought out by them as evidenced by the breadth of her client base and work in high value and complex disputes. Simone spent more than twenty years practising real estate litigation based in London working at the UK’s number one real estate litigation firm. She has been a Partner since 2011. She relocated from London to Nottingham six years ago to grow one of the largest, most successful and well known regional specialist teams.

Achievements

  • Former Chair of the Property Litigation Association Education and Training Committee: A highly regarded role within the industry, ensuring members of the Association are kept abreast of all legislative changes and culminating in responsibility for the annual Property Litigation Association Conference at Oxford University.
  • Response to the Law Commission’s consultation on Reform to the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954: Co-ordinating a formal response to the consultation including hosting round table discussions and producing a podcast on the topic.
  • Response to Covid-19: Advising clients on the minefield of emergency legislation and all Covid-related issues. Speaking at a prestigious annual Real Estate Conference with almost 1,000 attendees and delivering webinars, formal papers, written articles and training on covid problems.
