Philip is head of UK Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity, and co-leads Browne Jacobson’s International Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity group. With over 25 years’ experience advising clients on global and domestic data privacy, governance and information law, Philip is a widely recognised expert in data protection, cybersecurity, AI and fraud prevention.
Philip advises on data strategy, AI, innovation, product counselling, breach response, risk mitigation, emerging threats and reputation management. Philip helps clients navigate the multi-jurisdictional ‘patchwork’ of global and local laws, at the intersection of emerging technology, digital regulation, online safety and data governance.
Philip counsels trade bodies and private and public sector clients on sector-specific regulatory guidance and how to integrate legaltech and AI for efficient legal solutions. Philip has a particular strength in the TMT, Financial Services, Health, Sport and Industrial sectors. Philip also has extensive in-house experience at blue chip TMT clients and acts a natural extension of in-house counsel.
