Maz is a senior associate in our employment team. Since qualification as a solicitor in 2010, Maz has advised employers on all aspects of employment law with a particular focus on supporting business projects including acquisitions, outsourcing and restructuring.
As well as providing day-to-day employment law advice, Maz regularly supports employers of varying size from owner-managed SMEs through to public listed companies and regularly works with HR directors, CFOs, MDs and CEOs to advise them in respect of employment issues affecting their businesses and to take action to mitigate risk, promote best practice and protect the interests of the employer. Maz has a particular interest in dealing with employment matters arising from the sale and purchase of businesses including buyer due diligence through to claims by employees under TUPE and other relevant legislation.
Representing a regulatory body in relation to claims in the Employment Tribunal brought by a trainee claiming discrimination in relation to gender critical beliefs under the Equality Act 2010.
Successfully defended claims of unfair dismissal and race discrimination brought against an academy trust following a dismissal of an employee for failing to adhere to safeguarding procedures.
Provided employment support to an energy sector start up ahead of significant investment from a global fuels company.
Conducted employment due diligence and general advice to a private equity investor ahead of significant investment in a construction business.
