Karen is a senior associate in the multidisciplinary team, which forms part of the wider health and advisory litigation team. Karen specialises in defending clinical negligence claims, representing NHS Trusts in a variety of cases ranging from complex birth injury claims to misdiagnosed cancer cases.
Karen has over four years' experience representing NHS Trusts and individual clinicians, during which she has built up extensive knowledge of the practice area, providing expert commercial advice on resolving claims promptly and fairly. Prior to this, Karen spent four years in the defendant insurance sector, working with leading insurers.
Karen's experience also includes Article 2 inquests involving deaths in prisons, police custody, immigration centres and under secure escort, as well as assisting with an inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.
As part of the Midlands Dominance project, Karen supports a partner in her client relationship lead role across five Trusts and attends quarterly client meetings.
