David is a Senior Associate who specialises in policy coverage and defended liability matters. David has extensive experience in assisting insurers and MGAs with coverage issues across a range of liability and first-party insurance products.

This experience ranges from advising on whether a claim is covered by a policy and the interpretation / application of specific policy provisions, to assisting insurers with policyholder complaints and Financial Ombudsman Service referrals, to supporting insurers with coverage disputes and the investigation of fraudulent claims and breaches of the duty of fair presentation.

In previous roles, David has carried out client secondments with a number of household name insurers and advised policyholders on insurance coverage matters. He therefore has a unique insight into how both claims handlers and policyholders approach matters, which allows him to anticipate and address the concerns of each side when considering matters and providing strategic advice.

In addition, David has extensive experience in supporting insurers and their policyholders in non-injury liability disputes, both at the pre-action stage and once matters are litigated in the County and High Courts. Many of the cases David has handled have had a construction element and / or involved multiple parties. David is also experienced in using the mediation and adjudication processes to resolve disputes.
