Claire Weldon

Claire is a Legal Director and Team Leader of one of our specialist maternity claim teams, within our heath advisory and litigation department. Claire works closely with NHS Trusts and NHS Resolution, to investigate deal with complex, high value and high-profile birth injury claims.

Claire has over twenty years of experience in dealing with injury claims, initially practicing in Defendant Insurance Litigation and then transitioning into Defendant Clinical Negligence work in 2013.

Claire has a particular interest in patient safety and assists in arranging collaboration events to share learning between Trusts. She has delivered training internally and externally on a wide variety of topics such as the fundamentals of a birth injury claim, and communication barriers in maternity care.

In addition to acting for public sector clients, Claire has also acted for insurers in relation to a variety of medical malpractice claims. She has considerable experience in dealing with group litigation involving colorectal mesh, bariatric surgery and rhinoplasty cases.
