Cher was called to the Bar in 2023 and is an Assistant Advocate in the barristers team based in the Exeter office. Cher acts in various types of civil cases in the county court and predominantly represents a government regulator in investigating and prosecuting cases of misconduct. She has also assisted a member of the team in high-profile inquests.
Prior to joining Browne Jacobson, Cher worked at a policy advocacy centre where she assisted in the investigation and analysis of regulatory and environmental law breaches. During her legal studies, she also represented clients from two pro-bono centres at First-Tier Tribunals, Employment Tribunals and Coroners’ Court where she had the experience of cross-examining medical experts. Additionally, she advised clients on various civil matters and interim applications.
Through volunteering at the Refugee Council, Cher has had experience supporting vulnerable individuals and witnesses, including those who fled Afghanistan, Iran, Russia, Pakistan, and Ukraine due to war and/or violence.
