Anna Saccaggi

Anna is Team Leader of one of our specialist maternity claim teams within our heath advisory and litigation department. She has over 10 years’ experience defending clinical negligence claims, acting on behalf of NHS Resolution and healthcare Trusts. In her current practice she manages high value, complex and high-profile maternity claims, as well as supporting the NHS and its staff following devastating maternity incidents.

Having trained and worked after qualifying in a claimant environment, Anna has a good understanding of clinical negligence claims from both sides. During her time at Browne Jacobson Anna has had the opportunity to undertake secondments at NHS Resolution and has worked in-house at NHS Trusts, thereby seeing clinical negligence claims from the Trusts’ perspective. During her recent secondment at a large Midlands Trust Anna was entrusted with overseeing all maternity claims, giving her a unique insight into the profound effect that clinical negligence litigation can have on healthcare professionals. Anna’s deep empathy for both patients and clinicians, as well as her commitment to collaboration, shines through in her approach to resolving claims. 

Anna also supports Trusts with investigations into devastating birth injury cases including NHS Resolution’s Early Notification Scheme cases (an innovative programme for improving safety in maternity care).
