Amy is an Associate in the MDT team at Browne Jacobson, where she defends clinical negligence claims brought primarily against public sector organisations, including NHS Resolution and various NHS Trusts. Prior to the MDT team, Amy has worked in the Adult Neurological and Mental Health teams.

Amy currently handles a portfolio of complex and high value cases within the MDT team, spanning a broad range of serious and often catastrophic clinical negligence claims. Her caseload encompasses fatal claims arising from delayed diagnoses and surgical complications. She also handles claims involving delayed diagnosis across a range of specialities, including renal disease, appendicitis, Takayasu's arteritis, and slipped upper femoral epiphysis in a paediatric patient, as well as claims arising from ambulance and conveyance failures resulting in cardiac arrest and death.

Further cases include surgical negligence claims involving laparoscopic procedures, compartment syndrome leading to Volkmann's contracture, ophthalmic and dental claims, and matters concerning prisoners and vulnerable individuals in care settings. Amy also has experience of inquest work. She frequently manages cases involving more than one NHS Trust, navigating the procedural and strategic complexities that arise in multi-Defendant litigation, including issues of apportionment, contribution and co-ordination between Defendants.

Before her current specialisation, Amy worked in dispute resolution for over 13 years, defending litigated claims against insurers involving road traffic accidents. This background equips her to conduct litigation once Court proceedings have been issued, drawing on her extensive litigation experience. She also gained invaluable in-house insurer experience in a previous secondment.
