Alex Barrie is a Senior Associate and Team Leader within the Adult Neurological Injuries Division at Browne Jacobson, specialising in the defence of complex claims brought against NHS Trusts.

Alex read Law at the University of Nottingham before commencing a training contract with a national law firm, qualifying as a solicitor in 2014. Alex began her career representing Claimants. During this time, Alex was involved in one of the most high-profile patient safety cases; representing a victim of the Stepping Hill Hospital contaminated saline scandal.

In 2020, Alex made the decision to transition to Defendant work and joined an international firm where Alex gained extensive experience acting for NHS Trusts, individual practitioners, GPs and dental practices. Alex subsequently joined Browne Jacobson in March 2026, bringing a well-rounded perspective informed by first-hand experience on both sides of complex clinical negligence disputes.
