Adam advises on financial services regulatory matters, professional negligence and insurance disputes. He has extensive experience in these areas, including from his time as an underwriter at a global insurance group.

Adam has experience acting on complex, high value, and often multi-jurisdictional commercial matters across a range of sectors, including financial services, technology and healthcare. He has acted on cases in the Commercial Court, the Business and Property Courts and the Privy Council.

Adam also acts on corporate and regulatory investigations, including in the financial services, pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

Prior to his career in law, Adam spent four years in the Legal Indemnities and Financial Institutions underwriting teams at Zurich Insurance Plc, where he had a multi-million pounds underwriting authority.

In addition to this, Adam is also a school governor and is closely involved in social mobility initiatives.

Experience

Life sciences company £200 million+ contractual dispute

Worked in a team acting for a publicly listed life science company and its subsidiary in relation to a £200 million+ contractual dispute with the UK Government arising from the supply of Covid-19 testing kits. The matter was settled immediately prior to trial.

Regulatory investigations and enforcement

Acting for regulated firms and senior executives, directors and traders in the context of FCA and PRA regulatory investigations and enforcement.

Pharmaceutical company

Representing a major pharmaceutical and life sciences company in relation to an investigation by the HSE concerning serious allegations relating to exposures to chemical substances.

Corporate internal investigations

Conducting internal investigations for corporates into a range of serious, alleged impropriety and irregularities, including in the financial services, pharmaceutical and life sciences.

Professional standards and discipline

Acting in contentious regulatory proceedings under Exchange Rules before the Exchange's Disciplinary Tribunal.

Whistleblowing

Guiding clients through navigating whistleblowing reports including assessing, responding and investigating such reports and considering and advising on next steps, including reports to the relevant regulator where appropriate.

Inquiries

Represented clients, both individuals and corporates spanning a variety of sectors. Advice covered engaging with the Inquiry, producing witness statements and responding to document requests.

Family Court receivership

Advising receivers on management and sale of the husband's interests in HMO properties and business in London, successfully applying for urgent directions and securing an extended appointment.
