Law firm Browne Jacobson has advised long standing Nottingham based CARE Fertility on its acquisition of Nuffield Health’s Woking Assisted Conception Service (ACS), backed by private equity house, Silverfleet Capital.
Operating since 1997, CARE Fertility is the largest independent provider of fertility services in the UK and a global leader in the treatment of infertility, genetic diagnosis and screening techniques and associated fertility preservation procedures. It operates clinics and satellite facilities in 19 UK locations.
It is the third bolt-on acquisition since Silverfleet Capital acquired a majority stake in the business in 2019 and follows on from the acquisition of Tamworth based IVI Midland and the Countess of Chester Hospital's fertility clinic.
David Burford, CARE CEO, said; “We are delighted that Nuffield Health Woking ACS has now become part of the CARE group. We feel that the clinic’s culture and ethos are closely aligned with those of CARE Fertility UK, and the whole team are looking forward to working with our new colleagues to take Woking ACS into the future. There are exciting times ahead as we expand the specialist fertility services we provide. The huge support that the CARE team provide enormously enhances our abilities to assist those patients needing our help.”
Browne Jacobson has acted for the CARE Fertility group since 2012 on a number of strategic acquisitions including the London based Centre for Reproductive Medicine Ltd, South East Fertility Clinic and Bath Fertility Centre Limited. Since then, the team has also acted for the shareholders of CARE Fertility on the secondary buyout by Silverfleet Capital in 2019 and subsequent bolt-on acquisitions by CARE Fertility.
The Browne Jacobson team comprised Paul McCannah, Sandra Wong and Victoria Hustler.
Paul McCannah, Corporate Finance Partner, added: “We are delighted to have advised CARE Fertility once again on another successful acquisition and look forward to continue working with management as they seek out other opportunities to grow and broaden its UK network of clinics.”
