Leah was called to the Bar in 2019 and joined Browne Jacobson in 2020 and completed pupillage under the supervision of Fiona Butler. Leah’s practice is predominantly in the field of professional discipline, though she has a growing employment and education practice and represents several of the firm’s key clients.
Leah is regularly instructed in fitness to practice cases before Professional Conduct Panels, including multi-day contested cases involving, but not limited to, allegations of sexual abuse, criminal convictions, serious safeguarding failures, exam malpractice and those involving dishonesty. Leah is often commended for her pragmatic approach and keen eye for detail. Leah acts as a supervisor, providing guidance to the wider team in respect of fitness to practice investigations.
Leah accepts instructions in civil matters and has a particular interest in injunctions, acting for several Local Authorities to secure injunctions and closure orders in respect of anti-social behaviour, harassment and breaches of planning regulations to name a few.
Leah has an expanding education law practice, representing local authorities and schools in Special Educational Needs and Disability appeals.
Leah has a growing practice in employment law and is able to assist clients in all aspects of the claim from drafting initial pleadings to attendance at hearings.
Prior to joining Browne Jacobson, Leah worked as a County Court Advocate for a national organisation in which she attended civil hearings, including a variety of civil applications, possession hearings, bankruptcy hearings and approval hearings.
