This webinar took place on Tuesday 27 April 2021 and is now available on-demand. The content in this recording was correct as of the original webinar date.

In the second of our three-part ‘Grades without Exams’ series, we explored the equality issues arising from the process for determining grades without exams in summer 2021.

Set in the context of the latest Joint Council of Qualifications guidance, this session explored:

  • implications for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
  • making reasonable adjustments for pupils with disabilities
  • issues relating to mental health and anxiety
  • the role of the SENDCo
  • avoiding or mitigating discrimination challenges

This session follows our first webinar on the 2021 grading process, which looked at what schools can do in advance to avoid legal risks and challenges. The webinar is available to watch on-demand here. Given the pace of change and need for clarity on this year’s approach we have provided answers to the most frequently asked questions on our website. We will endeavour to keep these up to date as additional guidance is released.

The third and final webinar in the series will take place on Tuesday 03 August 2021 at 10:00. Scheduled one week before the 2021 results are issued, our dedicated team of legal specialists will guide you through your data protection and legal responsibilities in relation to any subject access requests and appeals you might receive.
